The February 19,2020 episode catered around a gala which celebrated Victor Newman’s 50th Anniversary at Newman Enterprises

Included were classic flashback scenes with his mom, Cora, father, Christian Miller and included the backstory of what has made Eric Braeden as Victor Newman the most powerful daytime character on daytime tv.

At one part in he gala Jill address Victor as ‘old friend,’ per, “Hello Old Friend,” the beautiful song by Eric Clapton.

This episode of The Bold and the Beautiful featured a master class in acting by Matthew Atkinson as Thomas Forrester.

Thomas is a very troubled man. So troubled in fact, he uses both Zoe, played by Kiara Barnes, and his son Douglas and uses them, fathers them, proposes to marry them – either because Thomas does not know what he wants, or Thomas simply wants to be with Hope and will break anyone’s heart to do it.

What does a party celebrating 50 years of Newman Enterprises have to do with the song “Holding Back The Years”

In a simple existential way, the daytime serial is much like the song. Simply Red is just going to “keep holding on,” just as watcher of daytime drama watch for 47 years holding on for the end — the end of a new beginning. We want the story plot lines to be good and crisp and quick, but we don’t want the show to end. And would they announce it if on the day that the characters of Genoa City had wrapped up every issue and their story after 47 year was over, how sad would we be?

We’d be as sad as Simply Red on the train in that video.

The episode s47e113 featured the speed with which Lola was able to move on with her life despite the disappointing relationship and marriage to Kyle.

Phyllis as played by Michelle Stafford was especially good as she kinda stole the episode with her rhythm in her encounters wither Abby and Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV. It is difficult to be sarcastic and not be nasty, but Michelle is left handed – she does it well!
