‘I’ve Heard Your Theory Before’ | #yr, s48e206 | CBS/Paramount+ daytime drama genre notes

Looking at this show is like looking at a bunch of rolling stones.

Multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cancer, being shot at, being poisoned, being run out of a Los Angeles A+ fashion house, losing one’s father as a 12 year old, growing up an orphan, being stabbed are all things that have happened to one of the characters that appears today.

I always have a check mark for people that have encountered death especially at a savagely young age in an exceptionally cruel way.

Today’s episode 206 in season 48, was too well written to comment on beyond that. This episode showed an exceptional effort by the writers which appeared to bounce off the actors who are veterans and accustomed to theme and variation on change using characters that have been built over four decades.

‘Time Flies When You’re Dying’ | #yr, 6/16/21, s48e181

Michael Mealor as Kyle Jenkins Abbott shows class in trying to balance his issues with Harrison, Ashland, Tara and Summer. Having a father with the gracious etiquette and class as that of a Jack Abbott, Jr played by the hardest working man in television drama – yes really – PETER BERGMAN is teaching us how raising a child to be a responsible man.

Terms of Endearment is a movie that depicts the tragedy of the loss of a parent to cancer in a way that breaks me up every time I see it. This is a comment regarding the Terms of Endearment theme:

My mother was in the hospital with breast cancer in 1992. Because I had seen this movie, when it was the middle of the night and she was in excruciating pain and the nurse couldn’t give her more morphine because it wasn’t in the chart, I politely asked for them to get the doctor. “But it’s the middle of the night! I’ll have to wake up a resident!” the nurse said. Okay, so wake him up. “Morphine is very addictive,” the resident said. “She’s dying” I said. “I think we can risk an addiction to morphine.” Because of this movie, I didn’t stop until they increased her morphine and got her out of pain. She died a week later. Sometimes movies are more than just movies. Sometimes they are life lessons that you don’t know you need until you need them. And this music will always remind me of that.

Blessings to all!
