The December 15 episode of the Young and the Restless uses brilliant elements of the films Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, It’s a Wonderful Life and The Wizard of Oz.
Jason Thompson’s performance as Billy Abbott IV entertains yet makes one think. True excellence won the daytime drama for Best Actor in a Daytime Drama for Mr. Thompson. I would not be the least bit surprised if that award is repeated.
In regard to the loathsome nature of Adam, Chloe has a reaction to finding out that her friend Chelsea reacts with disgust telling her husband and father to Miles Michael Fisher, Kevin Fisher, “I can’t believe she’s thinking of reuniting with the monster. Victoria later tells Adam that he is a pathological liar who is toxic to everyone.” Meanwhile Aunt Tracy is “the nice one.”
Meanwhile the Abbotts fight influencer/ling lost family member Theo Vanderway over the assets of Dina Mergeron’s will. As the Abbott family lawyer, Richard Amberson, Esq, rightly said, “It’s better to settle things out of court if possible.” Theo points out to Jack, “You can’t possibly need any more money.”
Jack seems unimpressed with Theo calling him “Just another self-absorbed opportunist with an overdeveloped sense of self-entitlement.” Harsh words, especially from that of a Jack.
In the second part of the gorgeous wedding at the Chancellor manor, the Newman, the Abbots and the Chancellors share memories that could make a grown man cry. The flashbacks in particular of parents and children of seasons past show that the Devon advice was probably the wisest, in saying that the memories Chance and Abby are making are more precious than any jewels.
The Abbott, the Newman, the Chancellors and the Winters families, the pillars of Genoa City, Wisconsin, come together in the beautiful wedding ceremony of Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor and Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV.
Ceremony presided over by Devon Hamilton, a special singing performance by Traci Abbott and over 17 characters seen in flashbacks make for an episode with the excellence and fullness befitting the 12,000th episode of The Young and the Restless®.
The February 19,2020 episode catered around a gala which celebrated Victor Newman’s 50th Anniversary at Newman Enterprises
Included were classic flashback scenes with his mom, Cora, father, Christian Miller and included the backstory of what has made Eric Braeden as Victor Newman the most powerful daytime character on daytime tv.
At one part in he gala Jill address Victor as ‘old friend,’ per, “Hello Old Friend,” the beautiful song by Eric Clapton.
