‘Irresistible (Go)’

The most difficult task of writing for a daytime drama seem as though they are twofold:

  1. 90% of the characters are protagonist good people for whom the viewer roots;
  2. No foul language allowed.

Take this episode, for example. Every character is a truly good person. That’s tough to write for, but in 2020, who needs another antagonistic ‘heavy’? Who would not want to be a member of the Spencer, Forrester or Logan families, where each character, Quinn included, is supportive of others?

This episode features Liam making presumptions that may or may not be true.

As “The Joe” was quick to point out to his new tv room friends, “I would have been able to tell Thomas was kissing a mannequin. Look, she was not moving at all, right? Right? I rest my case.”

Completely Blindsided

We all looked around the room and even with our face coverings our eyes said, “Does this man not know that the nature of the daytime drama is the use of hyperbole in order to drive home a point in a dramatic, memorable way?”
