In the week of September 28 to October2, 2020 The Bold and the Beautiful®️ tackled the issue of the opioid epidemic in America.

During the same week The Young and the Restless® dealt with issues of family jealousy and control as power from one generation is either passed down or not in the family business context.

Google shows how the three words ‘family’ ‘company’ and ‘business’ drastically shifted with the rise of women in the 1950s

The Young and the Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful, two American serial dramas in year 48 and 34 respectively on television, have returned after a fantastic adjustment to life during a pandemic.

The families of #The Bold and the Beautiful®️ are based in Los Angeles and its culture of fashion designing and publication.  The families of The Young and the Restless® are based in Genoa City, Wisconsin and its culture of communication, cosmetic companies.

Serial dramatic series, called originally “Operatic Dramas” and teased by some as “Soap Operas” are the longest running dramas on television.  When people cry, “Oh I never watch those shows” it reminds me of all the 70 million people who would never think of buying a Barry Manilow album or the 50 million copies of a Phil Collins album where people assert “[I’d never think of listening to].”  Right.

The episode of the Young and the Restless that aired on May 11, 2018 broke down in family / company / business relationships in complicated ways that I tried to show on the image below.

The issue dominating the episode was: mistakes in early parenting, such as sleeping around and not knowing who a child’s father is, might get very messy when you have Alzheimer’s, maybe even want to cone clean with the truth- as the upstanding Madame Dina Mergeron wants to do, yet after decades might not remember even if mentally stable.

The song refers to the title of the episode I gave the show based on a character who floats this issue. The character sounds the 100% role reversal of the lover in Diana Ross’ LOVE CHILD, where a child is cared for only from love versus biologically designed planning.

Thus we can guess there is going to be activity at the G.C.M.H. lab next week.
